How the engagement works
Copyright protection in India is primarily governed by the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Copyright Rules, 2013, as amended. Copyright generally subsists in eligible original works subject to the requirements of the Act. Registration is not ordinarily what creates copyright, but registration can provide a formal record in the Copyright Register and may be useful as evidence in disputes. The applicable procedure, forms, documents, and requirements depend on the type of work being registered.
