How the engagement works
NGO DARPAN is administered by NITI Aayog through its Voluntary Action Cell. The portal enables eligible NGOs and Voluntary Organisations to register and obtain a system-generated Unique Identity Number. NITI Aayog states that the DARPAN ID is mandatory for NGOs seeking grants from Ministries or Departments of the Government of India. Current government guidance also indicates that DARPAN ID requirements may apply to certain FCRA and 80G-related processes and specified banking requirements.
